REAP Transitional Housing exists to provide structured transitional housing, life skills development, food security support, and independence preparation for young adults aging out of foster care through a phased model focused on stability, accountability, and long-term self-sufficiency.

REAP is being built to be a mother to the motherless — a place of structure, stability, food security, accountability, and preparation for young adults aging out of foster care. This work is personal. It is not about creating dependency. It is about helping young adults build the structure, skills, and confidence to sustain independence.
Why Rural Matters
Stability Needs Space to Grow
REAP Transitional Housing is intentionally rural-focused because stability needs space to grow. Rural communities can offer a slower pace, stronger relationship-building opportunities, access to land, and room for food security and sustainability work.
Rural implementation also allows REAP to build responsibly. Property and land can be more affordable than in urban areas, making long-term ownership, garden space, greenhouse development, and future expansion more realistic. REAP is not only building a housing program — REAP is building a community-centered model that creates partnerships, supports local businesses, develops workforce readiness, and helps young adults become contributing members of the communities around them. The goal is not isolation. The goal is stability, sustainability, and a place where young adults can grow into independence with structure and support.
Food Security
Why Food Security Is Central
Food security is central to REAP because hunger affects stability, confidence, decision-making, health, and long-term independence. REAP's food security model is designed to teach residents how to plan, grow, prepare, preserve, and sustain food as a life skill — not just as a resource.
Faith-Based Values
Guided by Faith
REAP Transitional Housing is guided by faith-based values. Our work is grounded in the conviction that transformation is possible and that every person has inherent worth and potential.
Participation in religious activities is not required to receive support. REAP serves all young adults regardless of religious background.
